On October 14th, 2017, Ally spoke about her upbringing in County Monaghan and how it led to her becoming an author. Supported by Creative Ireland, the wonderful team at Clones library brought many insights to the creative passions and inspirations behind an amazing collection of writers. Frank McNally interviewing Marita Conlan-McKenna about her powerful Rebel Sisters; Alison Jameson and the story behind her beautifully intricate This family of things; Sean Rocks discussing Ciaran McMenamin and his energetic and poignant novel Skintown; Liz Nugent reading an incredible and chilling extract from her new book Skin Deep, and Art Agnew reciting Patrick Kavanagh's works with heart and soul. The audience in Clones was enraptured, all day.
And the key message? Believe in what you write.
